One of the tougher climbs in the Pyrenees. The last 5 km are continuous between 10%and 15%. Especially for someone weighing 80 kilos, it becomes gruelling then. At the top, unfortunately, no views and no refreshment either.

Le début est facile et très roulant, et petit à petit la pente s'accentue de plus en plus, 2% 3% 4% puis à la sortie du village de St Engrace les choses deviennent brutalement totalement différentes et ça devient extrêmement dur. De longues lignes droites, sur une route large, avec des pentes à 12-13%. Il ne faut surtout pas se fier aux pourcentages moyens écrits sur les panneaux, car ce col comprend de très nombreuses petites descentes qui bien entendu font baisser la moyenne. Mais vous êtes constamment au-dessus des 10% lorsque la route s'élève. Pour ma part j'ai dû faire une fringale car je n'arrivais plus à avancer avec ma veste d'1 kg dans le dos ... pour avoir fait le Ventoux une semaine auparavant et d'autres cols c'est celui où j'ai eu le plus de mal, et de loin ! Vraiment bon courage et apprêtez-vous à vivre l'enfer si vous n'avez pas de bonnes jambes ou déjà pas mal de km dans les jambes comme moi ce jour-là !
