Have done this beautiful climb many times , it is steep and is from the first metre up the front wheel between 9% and 10% . No traffic and nice asphalt. Descend via Aucelon which is very nice to get back to route Saillans..... Breathtaking scenery.... read more

A cool and tough climb, in the heat it is very tough, there is no water to get. Done this climb with 35 degrees which is not necessarily recommended.

This climb via Pennes le Sec is very intense on the first part, then eases off to the summit. That said, you'll need to be in good shape, because although it's short, it's tough and south-facing, with no covering vegetation. The view over the Roanne valley is pretty, but don't expect a pass with a great view, as it's limited.

Adembenemende natuur.

Fantastically steep mean thing, it is. There's not much to see at the top, but until then it's nice viewing. You won't encounter traffic, and the tarmac is super. A must do though, well worth detouring for.

Steepest and most challenging side of the Col de Pennes. Beautifully climbed and virtually no other traffic on the road. Asphalt is super. Quite nice views in the climb, barely any at the top.

Asfalt is super.

Cycled this climb from campsite L'hirondelle. Nice tour of 60km. First warming up with the climb on the east side, through Aucelon to the valley and then doing the toughest side as a finale.
Mostly 10% with occasional small bits of flat, which brings the average down to 10%.
