The first part of the climb has a very good surface, unfortunately it deteriorates afterwards, but the climb is pleasant and there is no traffic at all.

A great training route. One of the passes I climb very often during the winter to get back into the swing of things. The first part of the route has some nice ramps but on a road in perfect condition, up to the last hamlet before an abrupt break to switch to a road (communal) in very average condition but with fairly light traffic. There are 2 short descents or flats that are good for the legs and allow you to climb it without too much difficulty. There is no "official" sign at the top apart from a "hiking" sign. If you want to enjoy the view over the Ouvèze valley, you'll have to continue along the road towards the descent to St Julien en St Alban.
