Very nice climb because of the varied landscape: high rocks of a ravine, alpine meadows. And because of the tranquillity. The tarmac is moderate, but no reason to leave the climb left or right. The village at the start of the climb is bursting with water sources.... read more

Very nice climb because of the varied landscape: high rocks of a ravine, alpine meadows. And because of the tranquillity. The tarmac is moderate, but no reason to leave the climb left or right. The village at the start of the climb is bursting with water sources.

Tricky relatively unknown climb. Climbed after climbing the Bonette from Jausiers. After fantastic descent of that climb towards Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée, turn right. This climb starts on a wide, gooey road until Saint-Dalmas Le-Selvage. From here the road surface deteriorates , but still doable on a road bike. The climb gets progressively harder as you approach the top, with some very steep sections in the last 5 kilometres. At the top, the asphalt stops and you can only go on a (coarse) gravel track towards the Bonette or towards Cayolle. Conclusion: very nice unknown brother of the Bonette, if you have gravel bike or MTB you should definitely ride it and continue on the gravel track.

Lastige relatief onbekende klim.
