I had ridden it down a year before and wanted to do it uphill, so much did I love the scenery. This time, I had hail, a headwind for the last kilometer, and less than 10°C at the top in the middle of May. I was a bit chilled.
Already ridden 24-07-2019, temperature was 40 degrees in the valley (!) but once up a fine 25. First the Col de la croix Millet and then via Jaujac (nice terrace under the trees) to the top and of course the road to the ski station. Then we descended via Col de Meyrand.
Very nice pleasant climb with beautiful surroundings. Also with the Meyrand and the Croix de Millet a beautiful trip ahead that is quite tough. Jaujac as a base is a must (Terrace). Swimming and refreshment can in La Souche in the Lignon.
Magnificent col, seemingly endless, but so pleasantly fresh and wonderful to climb in a constant cadence, with the most beautiful panoramas as a reward. Sublime.
(I combined the Croix de Millet, this Croix de Bauzon and the Meyrand from Sampzon; 119 km with 2100 hm).
Yesterday, 23-7-2015, we started the climb from Jaujac. The tour de france passed the top of this mountain last Sunday and decided to have a look myself. The climb is doable but can be tough partly due to the heat.
Very nice climb and easy to do!
Hele mooie klim en goed te doen!!
