I quite like this climb for an occasional detour, and can definitely recommend it as a variation to the more traditional road up Col de la Sausse from Saint Ferreol. The first 5kms are basically rolling terrain, where the shifting gradients doesn't allow you to find a good rhythm. As you reach a few small houses after 5km, you need to be aware and turn right from the main road.

Then comes the fun part with the next 2 kms providing solid climbing at double digit gradients with multiple switchbacks. After the switchbacks awaits a plateau, where the gradients eases off for a few hundred meters before the last steep ramp to the col. Standing at the col summit, you are rewarded with some good views, especially looking south-east into the valley. For an even more spectacular experience, you can go further up to Brésil, but be aware that these are all dead end roads, so you need to go back the same way.

Nice climb in a quiet and beautiful environment in the Drome.
The col starts in Sainte-Jalle-Trente-Pas if you take the D205 direction Chaudbonne.
The first km are usually slightly uphill with here and there some good 5% sections. But as the kilometres go by, the road becomes more inclined and the last kilometres steeper ( almost 10% ).
Unfortunately, the road becomes a dead end, but if you go back, after descending 500 m, you can take a small road on the left to the top of the Bresil. Keep in mind that this last kms constantly has double figures.
Definitely fun if you're in the neighborhood.
