Climbed 8 September 2019. Enjoyed this typical climb in the Var. Not easy and quite long at 9.4km. In summer also take into account great heat. No facilities on the col. Descent to Seillans not without risk (be careful!).

Beklommen 8 september 2019. Genoten van deze typische klim in de Var. Niet gemakkelijk en best lang met 9,4 km. In de zomer ook rekening houden met grote warmte. Geen faciliteiten op de col. Afdaling naar Seillans niet zonder risico (oppassen!).

It is a tougher climb than you might think. Through the village it is already hard to stand on the pedals. After the village and the first few kilometres, the climb flattens out a bit and then the last few kilometres don't go below 6% and regularly reach 9%. At the end, you can feel the acidification. Not a spectacular view, but a lot of suffering. I then went down the descent to Callian, which was worthwhile and Callian is worth a look. Climbing from that direction is also recommended (quirkier, though).

Lastigere klim dan je op voorhand denkt. Door het dorp is het al stevig op de pedalen staan. Na het dorp en de eerste kilometers vlakt de klim iets af waarna de laatste kilometers niet onder de 6% komen en geregeld de 9 aantikt. Op het einde voel je de verzuring wel. Geen spectaculaire uitzicht, wel afzien. Ik ben hierna de afdaling naar Callian af gegaan, deze was de moeite waard en Callian is dan ook de moeite waard om te bekijken. Overigens is beklimmen vanuit die richting ook aan te raden(wel grilliger overigens)
