I think this is the French Zoncolan! The average gradient is very misleading, just like many other climbs in this part of the French Basque country. The Tour should come here more often, there are some super challenging and very steep climbs here, even if it's not as high as in the high mountains. But coming back to why this is the French Zoncolan; the first part, 6.8 kilometers to the Puerto de Beillurti has an average of 12.5 %! Unfortunately, I don't have any good photos because that day, as often, it was very foggy in the Basque country.

Indeed Niels , a beautiful tough climb but there are many tougher ones in this region . The Tour of Navarre is held in this region , perhaps the toughest stage race for amateurs . I have described some of them but in a more western setting.
