A very nice climb with little gradient on the first part. The second part is more difficult but the scenery is magnificent and there is little traffic. The road is in good condition overall.

The upper part of the pass is superb as you climb up to the mountain pastures. The first 7 kilometres are easy as they are not very steep. The D+ is concentrated on the second half with a nice consistency at 8 % and short passages at 11/12%. Beautiful scenery at the top, few cars (done on 2 July 2023), just a few cyclists.

On 29 July 2021 I did the last part of this climb. I did the first part via the Port de Lers (see my experience there), as part of a 5 col round trip starting in Tarascon sur Ariege. Further climbs in this 102 km long lap (2500 hm) Col de Saraillé Col de Caugnous Col du Port and so the Port de Lers. Well to do this round. The last 4,8 km of the Agnes is good, not super heavy. Beautiful views on top. Too bad that the many stickers on the finish board make your selfie harder to read. You can meet cows on the climb and on the descent, but beware there are also bulls!
