This is really a hidden gem in beautiful surroundings up to Cicogna. The last 3KM are tough and between 10-12% I estimate. Very narrow, many hairpin bends and therefore slowly downhill again, as there is no other way back.... read more

In 2026... impeccable asphalt, almost no traffic and quite shady.... A spectacle indeed... A bit more challenging after the tunnel because it has some sectors with gradients on the 10... 12%..but short... Beautiful beautiful beautiful...

Bella bella bella...

Beautiful climb with lots of shade from the mountainside. Road is somewhat poor and very narrow, but quite doable by road bike. Only a handful of cars encountered the entire trip.

Done this climb for the 2nd time, this time in the evening. Due to shade not too hot. Enjoyed 11km. And apart from 1 car and 1 goat, met no one on the route. Great

Geweldig

One of my favourite climbs in the Valgrande nature park. First part on a wide, easily pedalled road, almost false-flat. The last 3 km, on the other hand, are hard and tough on a narrow, winding road that makes it a lot of fun. Exciting passage through the tunnel without lighting

Nice climb! Venom is in the tail and then it is definitely tough. Been back and forth by car too and so narrow you'd rather not encounter oncoming traffic. On that narrow road surface, climbing on a bike is wonderful. Lamp for the tunnel is definitely recommended!

Leuke klim!

Truly a magnificent climb, with 2 sections. The first 8 km is undulating. Soon, you already encounter no traffic and wonder when those altimeters will come. Put yourself in saving mode for a while, because the last 4km they come. On average about 10% on that stretch, but there are ups and downs. Tip: even though the tunnel is so short, a light is no superfluous luxury

A hidden gem towards the small mountain village of Cicogna. Lots of nice running roads until the descent (watch out, section goes through a small tunnel without lights!). After that, you don't really know what happens to you: you literally ride against a wall where, according to the Garmin, it is constantly 10%+ (and even parts 16%). I really underestimated this steep section and, moreover, thought it would be much shorter. We got to the top, but it wasn't easy.
The section at the top is then good braking due to the steep descent and hairpin turns. Later, you can release the brakes most of the time and go down hard on the nice running roads.
