A surprisingly nice and quiet climb given the large and busy roads to get there. It starts steep through the village, where the surface is good. The gradient then eases off as the climb enters the woods. The road surface here is a little rougher with a few potholes. The village street and the woodlands are very pretty. For the area this is quite a special climb.
