I suppose I do think of this as a climb, but it depends how hard I'm going. If I'm riding in a chaingang I might dread it, because it drags on for so long. But if I'm out for an easy recovery ride then it's barely noticeable, apart from the two short ramps lower down and the stiff little bit at the top of Jenkin's Lane, before St Leonard's church. The descent is much more fun, and much more motivating: There's a classic Strava segment, "Wendover 4k", which is almost exactly the reverse of this climb - starting at the vehicle exit from Wendover Woods, and finishing at the road junction near Cholesbury cricket pavilion.. That descent will get your heart rate up more than the climb will. However this is all good Chilterns territory, maybe no massive views, but always pleasant, and varied enough to keep you interested. Scenery wise, the sections of road before and after this climb are much better, but you will no doubt see them anyway, especially if you climb all the way from Chesham Vale and descend Aston Hill. The road has been repaired higher up too, so there are fewer potholes to avoid.
