The Centre-Val de Loire isn't exactly the most rugged region in France. After the exhilarating climb up the côte d'Amigny, I decided to look for other pleasant climbs in the area. This Chemin du Tertre is a lot less exciting though. The road is good. The gradients are reasonable. The climb is very, very short. To be included in a route around Blois.... read more

I know the area well, I train there a bit before going to the mountains when I'm preparing, it's not worth a 5 km climb, but the climb is steep'I've already done this 6× climb several times in the same day in 2023 and 2024, doing a nice 20km loop so that I could still make an effort over the duration of the loop, passing through Blois, the roundabout towards Saint Sulpice de Pommeray, passing through Saint-Lubin, then the road that takes us to Orchaise, to come back down and land on Molineuf at the foot of the eastern slope, then we do it again, ptdrrrr 😂 after three times already, it calms down nicely.. it's a personal loop that I recommend as well as doing the climb if you want to do a mountain road trip. the circuit that I do is OK'it's not perfection but with the wind from Saint-Lubin to Orchaise sometimes at 30 Km'h or even 60 sometimes bah there's training and after 6 times on a mountain bike it stings well.. you do the loop as many times as you need to there's not much in the Loir-et-Cher but you can prepare by adapting to the terrain.

To be included in a route around Blois.
