One of the nice hidden climbs on (almost) deserted asphalt forest roads in the vast nature reserve south and east of Eupen. Almost deserted because many roads are closed with barriers and/or forbidden for motorized traffic so that you only meet sporadic walkers and cyclists. And that while the surroundings are beautiful and the road surface is almost always very reasonable or even good asphalt (I didn't take into account the many gravel roads ;-)). This climb starts in a really beautiful valley near the bridge over the beautiful river Soor. In a nice right-left curve the road climbs against the slope where it goes up in and after the curve to the left. Then the climb continues while it slowly becomes flatter. At the barrier (you can go around with the bike) is the top. You can approach via the road from Eupen along the Soor, or by descending from the (boring) main road. In the latter case a nice break from the long N68.
