It's the most beautiful and interesting climb from a sporting point of view, among the climbs of the Champ du Feu and therefore of the Bas-Rhin. Apart from the first few kilometres on a gentle slope, the gradient is a steady 7%. The road is in good condition. The first half is fairly quiet. After the D57-D425 junction (near the Kreuzweg pass), the road becomes busier (but it's largely bearable). ... read more

Nice and steady long climb. After Breitenbach the gradient is very steady at around 7-8 percent. Also some good views when you get to look through the trees.

The hardest side of the Champ du Feu, as far as I am concerned, not to be missed. Again, nowhere more than 10% I think so a good test of fitness and cadence.

Certainly the most difficult side, or at least the most regular after Breintenbach.
Bring water if it's hot, as it faces due south.
Very nice downhill.
Unfortunately, it can be used on nice weekends (motorbikes...).
