After visiting Tarragona, we decided to spend the night on our way south. Being a cyclist, I had already prepared myself and found a B&B in Villanova d'Escornalbou. Middle of nowhere, car is not allowed in the village and very local. Delicious and natural centre of various rounds with delicious mountains. My wife is not into long, tough climbs so a circuit around the Castell is perfect anyway! The climb is beautiful, varied and also challenging. The devil is in the tail and that makes ... read more

My wife is not into long, tough climbs so a circuit around the Castell is perfect anyway! The climb is beautiful, varied and also challenging. The devil is in the tail and that makes it an instant hit. Very nice to cycle here, people are friendly, everyone greets each other and cars keep their distance. The routes are varied and some descents are like a wonderful French ski slope to enjoy the curves. Highly recommended without monster climbs
