Against my better judgment, we cycled to the highest waterfall in South Tyrol. Starting point at the exit of the busy trunk road towards the Reschenpass, accessible by car via a cycle path along the river from Merano. Approach kilometre to village of Parcines is already punchy but sinks into insignificance with what's to come. Turning through the streets, following the signposts Cascata/Wasservall, you also pass the tourist car park where hikers must leave their car to continue on foot. O... read more

Only a four-wheel-drive small van drives up and down with lesser strollers.
Thanks to no traffic, I was therefore able to make full use of the full road width to zig zag (watch out for water gutters!!!)
negotiate the fairly straight wall, with slightly twisting sections and some super steep hairpin bends at the end.
Calvary ride and asphalt stops where the waterfall thunders out of the rocks a little further on. There is a guesthouse (food& drinks ) and a souvenir wall where you can write down a message.
For me "Once in a Lifetime" especially with a racing bike (MTB would have been more convenient).
As a 63-year-old, had to set foot on the ground once in a while despite the encouragement.

Killer steep enjoyment : Challenging + 20% top experience to beautiful waterfall !!!
