Not to be underestimated. Starts steeply from Fort Augustus up to 12%. On the left you have a good view of Loch Ness. There is a short descent in between. Then the profile is undulating, with repeated gradients of over 10%. At the height of Loch Tarff, it flattens out briefly, then another steep ramp. The view of Loch Tarff is very beautiful. In the upper part, the road becomes a single track road with passing places twice, and it can get narrow here; I had to swerve onto the grass at the side of the road several times. The last section is a long straight stretch with a tiring undulating profile, even if it doesn't get any steeper. Fantastic view of Loch nan Eun to the right. No special markings at the top, no pass sign, but a car park. Beautiful nature all around. Very windy. The lower part of the road is very good by British standards, the last few kilometres have more potholes and, as I said, are less wide. There was moderate traffic on a Wednesday in August, much less than on the west side of Loch Ness.
