A rather dull climb in a not very easy to reach location if you're on a road bike. The only direct way to the base of the climb on a surfaced road is via a junction off the A34. If you know the A34 you'll know why it's considered a dangerous road for cyclists. The only realistic option on a road bike is to ride up to the Ridgeway (Bury Down car park) from West Ilsley then down the other side to the A34 interchange then back up the climb. If your bike has gravel capability, or you're on an MTB, then you can reach the A34 interchange (which crosses over the main highway) safely via gravel tracks on the eastern side to reach the base of the climb that way.
