Done before La Vuelta a España stage 20. Gets hard from Navacerrada, but the steepness in the final 3 K is absolutely crazy! Last section on broken asphalt but views are great.... read more

Very hard climb with very steep ramps. If you like cycling, this is your climb: When you get to the end the views are amazing. Very hard but worth it

You can do the super-steep climb to Bola del Mundo from the Puerto de Navacerrada after climbing the Puerto de Navacerrada from a side of your choice. However, if you leave from Collado Villalba, you have to expect a lot of traffic on a busy track until Navacerrada. After that, it becomes less busy, and also very handsome. So my preference is still for the quieter climbs from La Granja or Rascafría-Cotos as the first section. Collado Villalba is mainly the option if you come by train (Cercanías Madrid), although you can also take the train further up to e.g. Cercedilla as a starting point.
