A beautiful mountain pass, tucked away in the Corsican mountains and their pine forests, which serves as the return route to Porto-Vecchio after climbing the Bavella Pass. The gentle gradients are perfect for recovering from the exertion of the “monster,” and you can fully enjoy the climb and its scenery.
After climbing the Col Bavella from Solenzara, this was my route back to Porto-Vecchio. I had the feeling of being on a long false flat, on a beautiful road, with little traffic. I was still on the small plateau, though, as my legs felt heavy after 4h30 of riding and over 2000 m of D+.
A small, discreet pass that I made on the way down from Bavella. The road is good, with very little traffic in the off-season, although I don't know if that's still the case in the summer. The scenery is still very pretty, but it's more of a transitional pass if you want to go on to Ospédale and then Porto-Vecchio. The pass is very easy, rolling and presents no difficulties.
I give this climb 4 stars because I really like the road, although the climb is indeed relatively easy. If you want to make it harder, replace the first part from Zonza with the climb of the Bocca di Pelza from Carabona via Cusciocani, Gauldaricciu and Giglio. Then you really do have a somewhat more serious climb of over 10 km with just under 400 altimeters and some steep kilometres in it of 8 per cent.
