Very nice climb through a quiet area. When you get to the top grab the other side as a descent with coastal views. That way you also only have to descend the steep wall at the end.

Steady climb. The descent is scary for the inexperienced - don’t let the bike get away from you.

Nice even climb, ideal for the slightly less trained cyclist. There is also little traffic and per kilometre it is indicated how far it is to the top and how many altimeters are overcome in the coming kilometres. Only downside is that the road surface is not perfect, it a bit bumpy but not to the extent that it really bothers while climbing.

The climb is very easy with a nice view at the top. As you descend the other side of Bernia it has nice views, but the road gets bumpy gets quite annoying. There is not much car traffic.

Beautiful climb with little to no shelter from the sun. Recommended to visit the local Belgian-run cycle cafe at the foot of the climb in the village of Xalo.

The views at the top and during the descent make this climb. Especially worthwhile for shorter rides from Calpe. Less beautiful scenery and tarmac than the Col de Rates and other cols a bit more inland.

Climb through a barren 'valley', little to see or experience. Just past halfway, a bit of flat and some downhill, the tarmac is rough and quite bumpy.
