Amazing climb. Steeper than expected. Particularly fun to do though. Always a challenge to go that little bit faster. Although there is the danger of blowing yourself up on the steeper parts. Very cool!
Verbazende klim. Steiler dan verwacht. Wel bijzonder leuk om te doen. Telkens een uitdaging om toch dat tikkeltje sneller te gaan. Al zit daar wel het gevaar om jezelf op te blazen op de steilere stukken. Heel tof!
Short and powerful climb. If you take it easy, this need not be a problem. And I am anything but a routinier. Nice to put in your route if you're in the area. I wouldn't make it a special destination, though.
Kort en krachtig klimmetje. Als je het rustig aanpakt, hoeft dit geen probleem te vormen. En ik ben allesbehalve een routinier. Leuk om in je route te stoppen als je in de buurt bent. Ik zou er evenwel geen speciale bestemming van maken.
Climb that you don't see coming and don't immediately notice. You start with a gentle, uphill section to then turn left and then right uphill.
Past the farm on the left, the percentages become steep and towards the end it's tough to get to the top.
Once at the top, you can choose to cycle on to the nearby Pareelstraat
Klimmetje dat je niet ziet aankomen en ook niet meteen opvalt. Je begint met een rustig, stijgende stuk om dan links en vervolgens rechts op te draaien naar boven.
Langs de boerderij aan de linkerkant worden de percentages stevig en naar het einde toe is het doorbijten om boven te raken.
Eenmaal boven kan je kiezen om door te fietsen naar de dichtbij liggende Pareelstraat
Nice climb - still a bit steeper than most (close) around. Especially nice views of Oudenaarde (if you get to the top and turn right: look right). Short, steep and powerful!
Leuke beklimming - toch wat steiler dan de meeste (dicht) in de buurt. Vooral een mooi uitzicht op Oudenaarde (als je boven komt en naar rechts gaat: rechts kijken). Kort, steil en krachtig!
Short and explosive climb. Often trickier than you would think beforehand. In the bend it starts to get steeper and it takes quite a long time before it flattens out again. By the time you reach the picnic table, you're usually glad it's over. The road surface is not super but good enough. By the way, at the summit you have fantastic views.
Kort en explosief klimmetje. Vaak lastiger dan je op voorhand zou denken. In de bocht begint het steiler op te lopen en het duurt vrij lang eer het terug afvlakt. Tegen dat je aan de picknicktafel komt ben je meestal blij dat het is afgelopen. Het wegdek is niet super maar goed genoeg. Op de top heb je trouwens een fantastisch uitzicht.
Ideal climb to test explosiveness. Short enough to give full on to the top, yet long and steep enough to hurt the legs.
Quiet road with nice views at the top. Ideal to take if you don't want to ride all the way to the Flemish Ardennes and are still looking for an incentive.
Nice to combine with the Parelstraat a kilometre away.

Rustig wegje met mooi uitzicht boven. Ideaal om mee te pakken als je niet tot aan de Vlaamse Ardennen wil rijden en toch een prikkel zoekt.
Leuk te combineren met de Parelstraat een kilometer verderop.
The climb itself is not too much, especially compared to what you find on the other side of the Scheldt. At the top, however, you have a breathtaking view of Oudenaarde and the Scheldt valley. There is even a special bench that I don't think has been there for very long! This makes the climb really worth doing if you want something different from riding up the Oude Kwaremont yet again!
Het klimmetje zelf stelt niet al te veel voor, zeker niet in vergelijking met wat je aan de andere kant van de Schelde vindt. Boven op de top heb je echter een adembenemend uitzicht op Oudenaarde en de vallei van de Schelde. Er is zelfs speciaal een bankje voorzien dat er volgens mij nog niet zo lang staat! Dit maakt de klim echt wel de moeite waard om te doen als je eens wat anders wil dan nog maar eens de Oude Kwaremont op te rijden!
