Not a top climb. Pretty tricky because of the steepness but you're just cycling on a cycle path next to a busy road, but there probably aren't many better options to ride out of Aachen. I wouldn't get lyrical about it but it's not a punishment to have to ride there either.... read more

Climb along the cycle path of the main road from Soers to Berensberg. It starts gently but soon the gradient runs into the double digits. Towards the end it flattens out again. Three stars for the climb but otherwise dull surroundings.

The profile here seems to pick up the slope of the surface, not that of the viaduct. In reality, I don't think it makes it to 12%, although it does ramp up considerably here. Just a good bike path, but along a fairly boring busy road.

Technically a nice climb (largely a steep runner, more of a runner than the profile indicates) but other than that there's not much to do. A good tarmac cycle path along a busy through road. In the second part there are some views on the right. The climb west of this is a lot nicer in terms of scenery.
