A brilliant enjoyable climb with incredible views in all directions. Starts off gentle enough from Pola La Lena then once you turn off for the actual climb the road surface gets quite rough and there are cows and horses roaming. It is single track and I didn’t see a single car the whole way up or down.
Do it on a clear dry day, not like me because I got no view at the top at all.

Wonderful climb that rewards you at the end with great views--if it's not too cloudy, at least. Due to heavy rain in the valley, we drove the car to the Alto de Cobertoria and started the climb from there. Fortunately, a watery sun came through just before the summit. Along the way we encountered only 1 car belonging to a local shepherd.

In September 2021 we conquered this monster climb on the morning of the Vuelta stage with arrival at the top. Pushed up by numerous supporters, this was a great experience. Unfortunately it was cut short by the Guardia Civil at 500m from the top. Further cycling was not allowed. As soon as you take the junction to the Cobertoria you can start enjoying yourself. A narrow steep road, moderately asphalted, leads you through a wild landscape up the mountain. In the last few super steep kilometers you suddenly see the big radio mast in front of you and you get a Ventoux-feeling. A unique experience!

Unieke belevenis!

The road to the top is a nice well running track where you will encounter the occasional ato in the first part but after the exit for Llanuces you will hardly encounter any cars.
If you are in the area you can not miss this col but beware, be well trained and prepared because sometimes the road rises to almost 15%.
