Ascent known as the first part of the climb to the Quaggione Alp. And its numbers are quite telling: the first part already presents difficulties but it is after Gattugno that it becomes gritty and tough to never let up until the top of the hill at alpe colla. If you then continue nonstop to alpe Cardello and alpe Quaggione the whole thing becomes very indigestible because of the continuous hard slopes. Upon reaching alpe colla, it is also possible to descend toward Germagno and then toward Omegna or to continue uphill toward Loreglia in the Strona Valley. Ascent that in the part up to Gattugno is also quite exposed to the sun, so be careful to tackle it at the hottest times.
Salita nota come prima parte della salita all'alpe Quaggione.
Done by MTB several times, each time arriving more and more motivated...but each time bounced back! You have to be patient and ride nimbly, at the cost of increasing the frequency.
Variant in my opinion more interesting than the one up from Germagno. To be done as the first part of the fearsome ascent to Alpe Quaggione.
