Kort en heel pittig is de beste omschrijving voor dit klimmetje. Je moet altijd links- of rechtsaf slaan om er aan te beginnen. Je aanvangssnelheid is dus niet al te hoog. Je zal tot aan de kruising moeten blijven trappen om boven te komen. Zoals YordiZ aangeeft kan je de kruising oversteken en de klim via het Kerkpad nog een 400 meter langer maken.
Short and snappy. You usually hear that about haircuts but it also applies to Sand Mountain. It gets quite steep for a while (my Garmin indicated 16％) but stand on the pedals for a while and then it's over in no time and you reach the main road. You can extend the climb a bit by crossing the road and continuing on the cycle path on the other side. You'll then get another 6％ nod.
Kort en pittig. Dat hoor je meestal over kapsels maar is ook van toepassing op de Zandberg. Het wordt even flink steil (mijn Garmin gaf 16％ aan) maar even staan op de pedalen en dan is het zo voorbij en kom je bij de grote weg. Je kunt de klim nog wat verlengen door over te steken en aan de overzijde van de weg het fietspad te vervolgen. Je krijgt dan nog een extra knikje van 6％.
Too short to get tired but a nice and tough climb. It starts reasonably easy but in the right hand bend you see a wall with high percentages looming up, and this continues all the way to the end. A bit of hard work. Beautiful surroundings.
Te kort om moe te worden maar wel een lekker pittig klimmetje. Het begint redelijk rustig maar in de bocht naar rechts zie je een muurtje met flinke percentages opdoemen, en deze loopt helemaal tot het einde door. Even aanpoten dus. Mooie omgeving.
After the last house on the left side of the road you're looking at a wall that turns left into the forest and of which you can't see the end. When you ride here for the first time, this wall might scare you a bit. But it is just a matter of choosing the right gear and then giving it a good whack. Before you know it you are at the top. At the top watch out for (moped) cyclists descending the Putherberg. I always cross here and continue on the Kerkpad.
Na de laatste woning aan de linkerzijde van de weg kijk je tegen een muur aan die links het bos indraait en waarvan je het eindpunt niet kunt zien. Als je hier voor het eerst fietst boezemt die muur wellicht een beetje angst in. Toch is het niet meer dan een kwestie van het juiste verzet kiezen en er dan een flinke klap op geven. Voor je het weet ben je boven. Op de top oppassen voor (brom)fietsers die de Putherberg afdalen. Ik steek hier altijd over en fiets verder over het Kerkpad.

Leuk klimmetje die niet iedereen zal kennen. Het zit een beetje verstopt, maar zeker een aanrader. Het eindigt met een kort en steil stukje, dit houdt gelukkig niet al te lang aan.

Deze klim begint verstopt aan het kruispunt onder bij Schinnen. Eerst rustig en steeds een paar procentjes mer komt het op de helft tot een echte muur. Op de grote weg dan oversteken en gematigd stijgend dan afmaken tot de camping in Puth. (2e helft niet op de kaart)
