I've gone with 2 stars for this because it's not worth a detour if you're detouring from a more interesting nearby climb like Wardrobes. However, it's a nice climb. You have some views from the lower part, before the bend, and the gradient is easy enough to stay in the big ring all the way up - but you might have to work for it after the bend. It's one of the easier climbs to the top of that part of the Chilterns, and will have merit for some people on that basis alone. ... read more

I've gone with 2 stars for this because it's not worth a detour if you're detouring from a more interesting nearby climb like Wardrobes. However, it's a nice climb. You have some views from the lower part, before the bend, and the gradient is easy enough to stay in the big ring all the way up - but you might have to work for it after the bend. It's one of the easier climbs to the top of that part of the Chilterns, and will have merit for some people on that basis alone.

There's a windmill at the top, behind the pub. You can see the sails over the hedge, or go round beside the pub to see the whole thing.
