Quite challenging for a newcomer to the mountains due to the length! Only little variation in the gradient percentages, so it's easy to find your rhythm. The route up to Wieden is relatively straightforward with moderate traffic. Then you look up to the Wiedener Eck and the Hohtann and are briefly startled, but it doesn't get any more challenging, as there are sweeping hairpin bends leading upwards. After the Hohtann, an atmospheric descent leads over open terrain. Then turn right towards the valley station of the Belchen cable car. Make sure you keep up the momentum here - I think this is the steepest section! At the Belchen valley station, you have to take a short gravel path to the right or round the outside, the gravel is very loose, be careful! After 100 metres, the route continues on concrete/asphalt. Only cyclists are travelling here, so you have plenty of shade and peace and quiet. The last kilometre then leads out onto the open area of the Belchen, out the back another 8-10% for the final spurt. The view from the Belchen is magnificent!
