White Lane is not especially pretty nor is it much steeper than many of the famous climbs on the North Downs (but it IS up there) – the reason you have to ride this one is because of the famous Bec Hill annual challenge. Riders compete to be KOM in absurdly fast sprints up this 640m hill with an average gradient of 13%. Current fastest on Strava 1min 28secs – seriously?!
