A steady climb which increases in gradient in the upper section but which is never too hard. It's a nicer climb than the ascent from Westbury with good views of the chalk grassland. However, unlike the Westbury climb, the white horse itself remains hidden from view throughout. You can walk over to it from the top of the climb. A steady climb which increases in gradient in the upper section but which is never too hard. It's a nicer climb than the ascent from Westbury with good views of the chalk grassland. However, unlike the Westbury climb, the white horse itself remains hidden from view throughout. You can walk over to it from the top of the climb. The road surface is good and just wide enough to allow a car to pass without disrupting your climb too much.
