Ascent to a dead end, which actually only begins from the car park. The climb itself runs along a reasonable forest track up to the dam, although there can be a lot of hikers on the paths at weekends. Nevertheless, it's a nice climb to cycle up at speed.
Anstieg in eine Sackgasse, der aber eigentlich erst ab dem Parkplatz beginnt. Der Anstieg selber verläuft über einen vernünftigen Waldweg bis zur Talsperre, allerdings können an Wochenenden viele Wanderer auf den Wegen unterwegs sein. Dennoch ein schöner Anstieg um mit Tempo hochzufahren.
After a long and relaxed run-up on a wide and sometimes bumpy road, you suddenly see the dam towering up in front of you. Quite a bit of height to bridge but because it is in a very wide bend, the percentages are not so high. From the car park below the dam, a very nice car-free road - with perfect tarmac - leads up through a small stream valley and beautiful forest with a 180-degree bend halfway. Eventually, the tarmac (and the road) stops at the dam and at a small watchtower.
Na een lange en relaxte aanloop over een brede en soms wat hobbelige weg zie je ineens de stuwdam voor je omhoog torenen. Best nog wel een hoogte te overbruggen maar omdat dat in een zeer ruime bocht gaat vallen de percentages wel mee. Vanaf de parkeerplaats onderaan de stuwdam loopt een erg mooi autovrij weggetje - met perfect asfalt - door een beekdalletje en fraai bos omhoog met halverwege een 180-graden bocht. Uiteindelijk stopt het asfalt (en de weg) op de stuwdam en bij een kleine uitkijktoren waarbij de weg wel vrijwel tot het eind blijft stijgen.
