One of the trickier climbs from Pateley Bridge. It starts out very steep and with oncoming traffic on the narrow road, it is annoying. Once you have survived the first very steep kilometre, another long spur outside the built-up area awaits.
Good climb this one. Pretty steep at the beginning, getting on for 19%. There are gulleys for rainwater across the road, so that does raise the difficulty tariff, but still good for a road bike. Once at the top you are up on the moor with some cracking lonely roads to discover.
Probably not as tough as Trapping Hill.
