The Wassenaarseslag is perhaps the entrance to the dunes! It's not a very nice climb and it can be terribly crowded with cyclists and beachcombers. So on a nice summer day, you probably won't be able to go up here with a good gear. But apart from that, it is a nice climb to tackle.

This is the main access road to the dunes of The Hague. The bike path is nicely asphalted and lies on a separate elevation along the motorway. The slope is straightforward, with about 200-300 meters where you have to accelerate when the road goes from 3 to 6%. The road lies between two hedges of trees, but compared to the dunes to come, it's not a very nice climb. While cycling here, also look to the right to see the remnants of the Rijksdorp Bunker Complex from World War II. Between the trees you can see some concrete lookout posts, a nice historical artefact on an otherwise simple slope.
