Will be in Gran Fondo of 3Rides in Aachen this year (2024). Not the prettiest in this region, but quite long.

Nice strip through the forest. Because there is quite a bit of traffic, one star less.

Actually a nice climb with an exceptional length, the busy road takes a little of the fun out of it.

In terms of altimeters and length almost identical to the climb from Zweifall but that is all there is to it (the climbing points differ quite a bit). I found the Hahner Strasse to be a real (relative) wrecker. The first half is more like an irregular interval training because of the constantly changing percentages. The second half is more quiet with longer stretches.
The beginning is beautiful with a view on the valley. Then you enter the forest where you only come out at the end. Yet this is not a boring part. The forest varies a lot and here and there are babbling brooks with sometimes a waterfall. Nice also to see that there was more and more snow the higher you get. Also the road itself ensures that you do not get bored quickly. Perfect asphalt further.

Especially the first part is very irregular, hard to find a rhythm. Some traffic, but everyone took cyclists into account. During the climb there's not much view, you're deep in the woods, and there are no other peaks around you. Once at the top, the forest suddenly opens up, and you're on the first real ridge of the Eifel, from here you suddenly have a beautiful view towards the rest of the Eifel.
