This climb is a traffic-calmed alternative to the Selbecker climb (Eilpe to Waldbauer), but it is not at least as difficult. The first few kilometres are still gentle. Initially, the route passes the Ambrock quarry on a poor, partly potholed surface, but then the surface improves for the rest of the route and the scenery along the Hamperbach is also quite attractive. In the second half, however, there are two big waves. The first wave in particular, which leads out of the forest and onto the plateau, should not be underestimated. The second wave then leads through woodland again, where you can also pick up some momentum from the plateau.
