A beautiful climb, always hard with few stretches to breathe, but regular and without significant jolts. For a good part, especially at the bottom, you pedal through the forest, so even in the heat the temperature is never unbearable. Challenging but steady ascent: it is important to find your rhythm right away. Tackled in July 2025. The asphalt is excellent. It is still a mountain road (single carriageway) and in the forest, so there are a few branches/roots/shadows to watch out for on the descent.

A beautiful climb, always hard with few stretches to breathe, but regular and without significant jolts. It is therefore important to find the right rhythm immediately because you will be climbing for at least an hour. For a good part, especially at the bottom, you pedal through the forest, so even in the heat the temperature is never unbearable. After 11 km of road all around 10%, near an agritourism, the view opens up over a beautiful mountain basin and at the bottom stands the beautiful village of Scalaro, recently renovated and with a fantastic cool fountain. The last kilometre and a half to the village the road is falsopiano and slightly downhill, so at km 11.25 the climb and fatigue are over. For those who have saved a little energy, or after recovering some with the stop in the village, it is possible to climb again on a tarmac road for about 300m of elevation gain by taking the fork on the left before reaching the village, following one of its branches that lead to various mountain pastures. Here, however, watch out for the slopes...
