You must already be well acquainted with the area to find the start. The climb starts at the Oschenstock junction on the south side of the Autobahn. Until the first tree on the right of the road, the climb goes up at a tight gradient. After this, the steepest part begins, running halfway up into the bush. After this, it flattens out until the summit at the former mill.
Je moet al goed bekend zijn in de omgeving om het begin te vinden. De klim begint op de splitsing van Oschenstock aan de zuidkant van de Autobahn. Tot de eerste boom rechts van de weg loopt de klim op een strak stijgingspercentage omhoog. Hierna begint het steilste deel dat tot halfverwege in het bosje loopt. Hierna vlakt het af tot de top bij de voormalige molen.
I had already driven past the start, so difficult to find this road. My mistake, because it is quite clear that this is the only road that leads up. Nice, but I would not detour for it. Short, a bit steep and nothing special.
Ik was al voorbij de start gereden, zo matig vindbaar is deze weg. Opzich mijn fout, want het is vrij duidelijk dat dit de enige weg is die omhoog leidt. Leuk, maar ik zou er niet voor omrijden. Kort, eventjes steil en weinig speciaals.
Short and very quiet climb of which the beginning is a bit hard to find. First part of the road is bad, then it gets better. Nice climb up to the forest after which it becomes flatter. To the left a nice view (also further on the road).
Korte en zeer rustige klim waarvan het begin wat moeilijk te vinden is. Eerste deel van de weg is slecht, daarna wordt het beter. Leuke klim tot aan het bos waarna het vlakker wordt. Naar links toe een fraai uitzicht (ook verderop de weg).
You can always see the climb from the A4, that always makes me curious, so I decided to go for it. The road to the climb is pretty bad, holes in the tarmac and lots of gravel on the road, especially if you come from the direction of Bocholtz. The climb itself is fine. Fairly even, a bit steeper around the forest and then a short false-flat spur. Once at the top you have a nice view towards the Lousberg in Aachen.
Klim zie je altijd al liggen vanaf de A4, dat maakt mij altijd nieuwsgierig, dus de klim maar een keer meegepakt. De weg naar de klim toe ligt vrij slecht, gaten in het asfalt en veel grind op de weg, zeker als je uit de richting Bocholtz komt. De klim zelf is dan wel weer prima. Redelijk gelijkmatig, wat steiler rond het bos en daarna nog een korte vals-platte uitloper. Eenmaal boven heb je een redelijk mooi uitzicht richting de Lousberg in Aken.
