Caution. This section of the road is closed due to a landslide. As of today (15 May 2025), there is no information about the reopening date.
To descend Roccolo from the south, there is an alternative. And it consists of taking via Pedevenda a few hundred metres before reaching the Roverello pass from the east. But it is a very difficult section, with a final segment at 25% that makes it very difficult to climb on a racing bike.

Attenzione.

The southern slope of Roccolo does not enjoy the same fame as the northern one, being shorter and less demanding. It begins at the Roverello Pass (which can be reached from Galzignano or Faedo) and after an initial downhill section, climbs progressively, touching double-digit gradients only at the end. There are some interesting panoramic views in the woods and the presence of a small church halfway along the route. The asphalt is undoubtedly better than on the opposite side.
