La salita al valico di Campotenese (dove più avanti è presente la Catasta, il centro polifunzionale del Pollno), inizia da fuori l'abitato di Castrovillari, attraversa Morano Calabro e si conclude a quota 1.000 m nei pressi di un galleria. La salita è molto bella e pedalabile tranne in un paio di tratti in cui la pendenza si fa più dura, il fondo stradale è ottimo e uscendo da Morano la salita diventa panoramica sul territorio circostante, c'è poco traffico.
