If you cycle up the Passo delle Erbe/Würzjoch via the route that starts in Milland, you can easily take the climb to Valcroce/Kreuzjoch.
The first 16 km with average ascents without extremes are the same. A wonderful start with beautiful views of the wide Eisackvalley as you cycle up through three hairpin bends and Bressanone disappears deep below you. Followed by a winding route from village to village in the pine forest.
The route to Passo delle Erbe leaves you in Plancios/Palmschoss (1697m) by turning left behind hotel Vallazza.
The final climb of 5 km ascends without extremes via 4 hairpin bends along the uninhabited forest flank, with fantastic views of the Dolomite peaks of the National Park on the way, followed at the end by a long right turn towards the end station of the Plose cable car. Asphalt road ends just after Gasthof Geissler (provisioning).
There is little traffic because almost everyone comes up by cable car to this popular hiking/skiing area.
The parking lot of the valley station in St. Andrea in Monte just outside Bressanone is passed and from there the road narrows upwards.
Nice pleasant climb in beautiful scenery. Perfectly combinable on the way to or coming from Passo delle Erbe.
Als je de Passo delle Erbe/Würzjoch op fietst via de route die vertrekt in Milland kan je gerust onderweg de klim naar Valcroce/Kreuzjoch meepikken.
De eerste 16 kilometer met gemiddelde stijging zonder extremen zijn immers dezelfde. Wondermooi starten met prachtige uitzichten op het brede Eisackdal wanneer je via een drietal haarspeldbochten omhoog fietst en Bressanone diep onder je verdwijnt. Gevolgd door een bochtige route van dorpje tot dorpje in het naaldwoud.
De route naar Passo delle Erbe verlaat je in Plancios/Palmschoss (1697m) door achter hotel Vallazza linksaf te draaien.
De eindklim van 5 km stijgt zonder extremen via 4 haarspeldbochten langs de onbewoonde woudflank naar omhoog, met onderweg fantastische uitzichten op de Dolomieten toppen van het nationaal park, gevolgd door op het einde een lange rechtsdraaiende weg richting eindstation van de kabelbaan Plose. Asfaltweg eindigt vlak na Gasthof Geissler (bevoorrading).
Er is weinig verkeer omdat nagenoeg iedereen per kabelbaan omhoog komt naar dit populaire wandel/skigebied.
De parkings van het dal station in St.Andrea in Monte even buiten Bressanone fietst men voorbij en vanaf dan versmalt de weg naar omhoog.
Mooie aangename klim in prachtig decor. Perfect combineerbaar op weg naar of komende van Passo delle Erbe.
