Torgon will be the finishing village for the 2023 Tour de Romandie for women. The climb is accessed from the Rhone valley where there is a fairly good cycle track on both sides of the Rhone. On the right side of the Rhône you can see the UCI World Cycling Centre as you head towards Vionnaz on the left side. In Vionnaz, the road to Torgon is clearly visible. We pass behind the church of Vionnaz where we already have a beautiful view of the Rhone valley. The ascent is made by many twists and turn... read more

Decent road to a ski station, nice hairpins. Quiet and decent surface throughout.

Good climb, never too steep at any point, a good regular training climb. Nice series of switchbacks through an alpage near the beginning.

Nice hairpins, not too challenging gradients. Best in the warmer months, as there are quite a few miles in the shade, so it's easy to get cold in spring or autumn.

Not too difficult a climb, with plenty of views over the Rhone Valley. As with many Valais roads, there is traffic to be aware of... be careful!

We pass behind the church of Vionnaz where we already have a beautiful view of the Rhone valley. The ascent is made by many twists and turns. We cover about 11 km between Vionnaz and Torgon. There is no really steep slope, the climb is smooth at 7-8%. The condition of the wide road is excellent and on the day I did this climb (a bank holiday) the traffic was very quiet (about 20 cars I estimate). The view of the Rhone valley and the mountains on the opposite side (Les Diablerets, Gd Muveran etc) is extraordinary. Make a small diversions for the arrival stele in Torgon (1140 m).
