The Twist is either the most iconic climb or the best kept secret of the Chilterns. It isn't very difficult but it's fun to climb, and good way of getting group rides into the Chilterns without breaking them up too much. The Twist starts steep and gets steeper. Then when you think it must ease off it goes round a corner and if anything gets steeper. But the top arrives suddenly, and there's a nice flat road into Wigginton, where you can regroup by the church.... read more

The Twist is either the most iconic climb or the best kept secret of the Chilterns. It isn't very difficult but it's fun to climb, and good way of getting group rides into the Chilterns without breaking them up too much. The Twist starts steep and gets steeper. Then when you think it must ease off it goes round a corner and if anything gets steeper. But the top arrives suddenly, and there's a nice flat road into Wigginton, where you can regroup by the church.
