Climb on the road from Sippenaeken to Gemmenich. The climb starts t.h.v. the road to campsite Du Vieux Moulin and starts briskly but then flattens out a bit. From the road to camping Kontiki, you first descend a bit before starting the second part of the climb. The summit is a little past the Q8 petrol station.
Klim op de weg van Sippenaeken naar Gemmenich. De klim begint t.h.v. de weg naar camping Du Vieux Moulin en start pittig maar vlakt daarna wat af. Vanaf de weg naar camping Kontiki daal je eerst wat af om vervolgens aan het tweede deel van de klim te beginnen. De top ligt een stukje voorbij het Q8 tankstation.
From the river Geul the path winds up a few curves with a steep slope. After that it levels off considerably and you can enjoy the beautiful views (both ways). Later on the road rises again with varying gradients. The top is just after passing the gas station.
Vanaf de Geul slingert de weg zich via enkele slingers met een pittige helling omhoog. Daarna vlakt het behoorlijk af waarbij je van de mooie uitzichten (beide kanten op) kan genieten. Later stijgt de weg weer waarbij de helling varieert. De top is iets na het passeren van het tankstation.
It is a sloping climb, after the descent of the Beusdael, through mostly green surroundings. Not too hard, but irregular, so you have to change gear a lot. But actually it's the transition part between the Kasteelstraat and the Trois Frontieres. Also here you have to watch out for passing cars.
Het is een glooiend klimmetje, na de afdaling van de Beusdael, door veelal een groene omgeving. Niet al te zwaar maar wel onregelmatig, dus je bent veel aan het schakelen. Maar het is eigenlijk het overgangsgedeelte tussen de Kasteelstraat en de Trois Frontieres. Ook hier opletten op voorbij racende auto's.
