Just outside Merano, this climb starts when cycling into the slightly higher Schenna/Scena.
Has an identical route to the one to Egger (see CF) apart from the final section.
After turning off the main street, the route leaves the centre of the village and heads for the sunny mountainside between the apple orchards. After cycling past the Taser cable car valley station (the mountain station is our terminus), you definitively stay with double ％ digits higher and higher for a long time following the mountain flank parallel along alpine meadows and through coniferous forest.
Just before Schnugger alm (1353 hm.), turn left off the Egger route via hairpin turn onto perfect asphalt. Coming out of the forest, you have beautiful open panoramic views of the valley you left from. There are a few hotels and alms and the terminus of the Taser cable car (1450 hm).
Spicy route as it flirts almost continuously with double-digit percentages. Both at terminus and along the way there are fantastically beautiful views of the valley formed by the Passier River and the snow-capped peaks of the Texel Group on the opposite side.
I combined both routes: Egger first as a challenge and then Taser to finish nicely!
Even buiten Merano, start deze klim bij het binnenfietsen van het iets hoger gelegen Schenna/Scena.
Heeft op het slotdeel na een identiek routeverloop als dat naar Egger (zie CF).
Na het afslaan van de hoofdstraat valt men direct met de deur in huis stevig de dorpskern uit om nadien tussen de appelboomgaarden op de zonnige bergflank terecht te komen. Na voorbijfietsen van de Taser kabelbaan dal station (het bergstation is ons eindpunt) blijf je definitief met dubbele ％ cijfers steeds hogerop lang de bergflank evenwijdig volgen langs alpenweiden en door naaldwoud.
Even voor Schnugger alm (1353 hm.), draai je via haarspeldbocht links af van de Egger route op perfect asfalt. Bij het uitkomen van het woud heb je prachtig open panoramisch zicht op de vallei waaruit je vertrok. Er zijn enkele hotels en almen en het eindstation van de Taser kabelbaan (1450 hm).
Pittige route omdat ze bijna continu flirt met de dubbele cijferpercentages. Zowel op eindpunt als onderweg zijn er fantastisch mooie uitzichten op het dal gevormd door de Passier rivier en de besneeuwde toppen van de Texelgroep aan de overzijde.
Ik combineerde beide routes: Eerst Egger als uitdaging en nadien Taser om mooi te eindigen!
