My favourite side to climb to Bassiano. Incidentally, the road surface has just been resurfaced for almost the entire climb.

The route never sees excessive tears, but still maintains an interesting average gradient. The real climb, however, begins after the quarry.

The landscape is varied, starting from the narrow valley between Monte Carbolino and Colle Cantocchio, passing through a tree-lined section, to arrive at a falsopiano between Bassiano and Monte Semprevisa.

The ascent is almost predominantly shady and, in winter, in the morning, you may encounter some ice.
