Wonderful climb, this is the best side, although the other side is nice too. The first part is the steepest. 8km of constant climbing at about 10%, nice tarmac and it's a treat if you like steep climbs. After those 8km, the landscape changes to something completely different, you are above the tree line, you continue a bit further past the Gaustatoppen cable car. Be careful not to turn off to go to the cable car, the highest point with the bike is just further straight ahead. I rode on to Sauland, only to climb the other side as well. As in all mountains, the weather can change, sufficiently warm down below, at the top it was cold, especially when I had to change my inner tube. The cold wind cooled me down immediately.... I did the climb on Saturday, September 30. At that time, there were a lot of people as it was school holidays. During the week, however, there were not many people, we stayed in Rjukan and we went up a few times. The tarmac was mainly good, as we are used to in Norway, except for a few places where it was a bit less.

De koude wind koelde me onmiddellijk af...
