Stoney Lane is a bit of a beast, as you can tell from the gradient profile. but it's very short. It's a shame it's started by turning off the valley road, instead of having a run-in where you can try and carry some speed, but there you are, that's the nature of it. Get in your small chainring before starting, ideally, to save the gear crunching on the way up, because you're straight into steep gradients, and then it gets steeper. Some people try to sprint it, but invariably go deep into the muscle lactate zone before the top of the steep part, and have to back off. The road has been recently surfaced, and is silky smooth. Also, it climbs through beautiful woodland. Shame about the gradient!
