NB: In May 2023, the section between the church and Enkirch was broken up and by the looks of it, it will remain so for some time. You can bypass it via the Mühlweg (nice cobblestone climb, by the way).

Variant van de klim door Starkenburg waarbij je niet de doorgaande weg pakt maar de bocht afsnijdt via kleine straatjes en dat merk je in de helling want die is best pittig. In Starkenburg rechtsaf schuin omhoog en dan steeds rechtdoor tot je weer op de hoofdweg bent. Daarna is het door een mooie omgeving uitfietsen. Tot Starkenburg is de weg soms matig maar is er vlak voor het dorp wel mooi uitzicht over het Moezeldal.
NB: In Mei 2023 was het gedeelte tussen de kerk en Enkirch opgebroken en zo te zien blijft dat nog wel even. Via de Mühlweg (leuk kasseiklimmetje trouwens) kan je deze omzeilen.
