Staple Lane is a popular climb near Guildford. There is less traffic than on the nearby Newlands Corner, and although short it packs a punch in the first part with a fairly steep segment. You can keep it challenging by going all out until the top.

There is a café near the top where many cyclists take a break - I can't tell since I never stop for coffee while on a ride, but judging from the crowd it must be nice :-)
